How an Austrian winery with more than 50 hectares of vineyards digitised, automated and fully interconnected all of its operational business areas – from demand forecasting and energy management to accounting and controlling – within 6 months.

Starting Point

The winery manages more than 50 hectares of vineyards and is one of the larger operations in its region. Despite decades of experience and high product quality, operational business processes were largely organised manually: planning, procurement, energy consumption, receivables, accounting and controlling all ran across separate, unconnected systems – or on paper.

The result: high administrative burden, no real-time visibility into operational key figures and no ability to make data-driven decisions – for example around harvest volume planning or energy usage – in a systematic way. The potential for a full digital transformation was clearly evident.

Step-by-step rollout in close collaboration with a technical implementation partner: introduction of individual systems, connection to weather and climate data sources for forecasting, and full integration of all modules into a seamless digital operating system.

Testing, Handover & Enablement

Comprehensive testing phase, fine-tuning of automated processes and structured handover to the operations team. Training and onboarding to ensure the business can independently use and further develop all digitised areas.

For the first time, the business operates with a fully interconnected digital system: climate data flows automatically into harvest and demand planning, energy consumption is managed in real time, receivables are monitored automatically and controlling delivers up-to-date KPIs at any time – without manual effort.
